So, this has been a personal project of mine since I discovered neocities and the indieweb thingy in general. I decided to remember everything I learned about HTML in college and make my own website (then I found out that I forgot how to code. Oops). I'm not a web developer or anything like that, and this site was basically made by some hobbyist nerd.

This website was handwritten with an 800x600 resolution in mind, without JavaScript (except for widgets that were not made by me) and without using flexboxes or other “new” features that were added to the HTML/CSS, so older browsers could theoretically support this site. I should stop torturing myself and start using some useful features I have ignored.

ToDo:

  • make "blog" page
  • make more buttons
  • add website's button
  • improve themes of the widgets
  • redo site's code
  • replace the wonky chatbox with guestbook. bye cbox, hello atabook.
  • "optimize" CSS code. nah, not gonna happen, i'm not a programmer
  • add more buttons (impossible to finish). i will make the buttons if i have an idea for them
  • add image logo of the website. nope. i'm pretty much already used to Comic Sans text as a logo.
  • scale down images for Music and Videogames pages. done. i don't think anyone will notice, but at least the site will load faster. if you noticed the low resolution of the covers, congrats, you have a good pair of eyes
  • add links in "grey text placeholders". done. forget about WIP/Scraps page, i've got too many unfinished stuff there, like 60 projects or so and i'm not sure if i wanna upload/showcase them all
  • rewrite Mods page, which I accidentally broke. nvm, i just fixed the page. i'm so silly for not figuring out an easier way earlier and instead i went the hard way, so very me :P
  • make better "retronaut webring" buttons. i'll keep it as is, the webring's website is as minimalistic as my webring buttons :D
  • add actual links
  • implement iframes. done. i will miss the old navigations menu
  • change the font into Playpen Sans. NEVER AGAIN! it was a bad idea, that font looks "too consistent"
  • finish Music tab. done
  • move "sensitive content warning" to the index page
  • mark "Music" tab as NSFW, because of nudity and swear words on some current/future album covers. sorry, i tried to keep this website as sfw as possible
  • rewrite text in About Me page. page is mostly finished, might reformat the text someday
  • move Buttons!!! somewhere else on main page. i moved it a few times, until i decided to keep it in the middle bar
  • make a new page just for custom graphics. i merged it with "cool websites" and renamed the page into "cool stuff"
  • ToDo as a separate "widget". as you may see, its now a part of the left bar
  • add image of text for links in navigation box. i like the way it is.
  • tile bg. its in the background, duh
  • add some site description here. its on the middle bar, duh
  • better design. not gonna happen, im not a designer :P
  • full scale pic of favicon. its on the right bar, duh
  • status cafe integration. done
  • mobile friendly css code. no, site on the phones will look exactly like on desktop devices.
  • better font. its not "better", but i guess it fits this silly ah looking site. it wasn't supposed to look serious anyway
  • make "About website" page. you're there right now
